The cheese factory in Kostroma region, which has been inactive since the 2000s, has been restored.

The cheese factory, which has not been in operation since the 2000s, opened its doors in the town of Galich, Kostroma region, reports from the regional administration.

The company was opened in 1951. Cottage cheese, butter, cheese, and sour cream were made here. In the 2000s, the factory was shut down due to financial difficulties.

Under the new owners, relying on the support of the region, the enterprise was revived. Dairy products have been packed here throughout the year, and the factory will start producing cheese in the near future.

“The investor has already invested more than 30 million rubles to re-equip the enterprise. Now the installation of refrigerators, cheese making and packaging equipment is in progress,” the message says.

While the company employs 15 people, the plant will open another 85 vacancies after the main lines are operational. According to the head of Galich, Alexey Karamishev, the enterprise will become a resident of the priority development area.

Information: Galich became a priority development area in 2019. Residents of ASEZ receive good benefits. Thus, instead of 30 percent contributions to the pension, social and health insurance funds of employees, they pay 7.6 percent for 10 years. In addition, the income tax rate for them is 5% instead of 17% for the first five years from the date of profit.
