(Teleborsa) – The railway station is born Milano MIND, in the line segment Milan-Varese between Ro Fiera and Milano Certosa in order to respond to the renewed mobility needs caused by urban transformations.
An agreement was signed to achieve this goal implementation agreement between the Italian railway network (the leading company of the infrastructure center of FS Group), Municipality of Milan, Region of Lombardy and Arexpo. A new model of metro mobility which is estimated to allow 45,000 thousand people, every day, to reach both the new MIND Milano Innovation District and the Cascina Merlata district.
The new stop of Milan’s railway system – the writing explains – it will be implemented in a continuously growing strategic area cwhich currently has 10,000 visitors per day and concentrates many activities with great attraction power, including the new Galeazzi Hospital (about 600 beds), the new Scientific Campus of the State University of Milan (where more than 23,000 people will arrive from 2027 between students, teachers and researchers) and the Human Technopole research center. It extends to the south of the station flower area dedicated to shopping. Therefore, the station will represent an important public transport hub and facilitate travel in the area with expected traffic 12.6 million users per year.
“The this stop is very important to us – announced the executive director of RFI Gianpiero Strisculio – Milano MIND will be an example of a station that will have functions and services designed for an urban context, in a complete transformation, very different from the current one”.
Ill the total cost is 33.5 million eurosof which €10 million was paid by the City of Milan and €23.5 million was financed through the Investment Program Agreement between MIT and RFI in relation to Urban Junctions and Metropolitan Lines.
The new stop is part of the “Milan Junction Rail System Complex” and is part of the RFI commitments for the infrastructural strengthening of the stations in Milan: Greco Pirelli, Romolo, San Cristoforo, Porta Romana, Villapizone, new stop. Tibaldi-Bocconi recently activated, accompanied by a plan to complete the reconstruction and accessibility of all remaining stations.”
